Aurelie Salvaire

Founder of Shiftbalance

Nationality: French
Based in: Barcelona, Spain

Aurélie Salvaire is a French author, trainer, PCC coach, and facilitator passionate about gender, diversity and inclusion. Graduated from France’s leading business school HEC Paris, she has been working for the past 20 years in the humanitarian and social innovation field. From 2012 to 2015, she has curated different TEDx events and especially TEDxBarcelonaWomen and coached hundreds of international speakers.

In 2012, she founded her own brands The A Factor which has run innovation tours and inspiring events in places as diverse as Beirut or Nairobi and Shiftbalance to develop storytelling workshops to empower women all around the world.

Between 2016 and 2018, she spent a large amount of time in Pakistan, shooting a documentary on masculinity called Maard Ban, or “Be a man,”and designing and publishing various books with the support of Pakistani designers:

-an anthology of gender equity solutions in English called Balance the World
-an illustrated book about 40 inspiring Pakistan women called Fearless published by Penguin India
-travel chronicles in French called Chroniques Nomades.

She loves to leverage media and storytelling to generate empathy, challenge stereotypes and foster behaviour change.

Aurélie works fluently in French, English, and Spanish. She is also an experienced facilitator, member of the Facilitators Pool of Airbus Leadership University and Ashoka Changemaker Exchange.

Bianca Buenconsejo

Based in: Madrid, Spain

With 7 years of digital marketing experience and an MBA, Bianca Buenconsejo handles Shiftbalance’s internal and external communication.

Outside of her passion for marketing, she’s also an educator with an advocacy for inclusive learning. She has spearheaded multiple marketing projects and teams with multinational companies based in the United States, Canada, and Singapore.

During her spare time, Bianca enjoys reading, working out, traveling, and immersing herself in different cultures.

Gillian Rhodes

Based in: Lahore, Pakistan

Gillian Rhodes is a performer and storyteller by profession but has a strong background in writing and research across a variety of fields. After graduating from Columbia University in New York in 2012 she moved to Cambodia and has since lived in South Korea and Pakistan as well. She started working with Shiftbalance in 2022, supporting copyediting and copywriting as well as research and analysis. She supports Aurelie in a variety of functions, including proposal writing and preparation, research and copyediting, and assorted tasks.

Monicah Wangui

Operations

Nationality: Kenyan
Based in: Nairobi, Kenya

With over 5 years of dedicated experience in providing exceptional administrative services and coordinating impactful programs for NGOs, INGOs, humanitarian organizations and the private sector, Monicah has emerged as a driving force in advancing the goals of these entities.

As the co-founder of Mega Women Organization, a grass-root organization championing empowerment of women and youths in the Kenyan coastal region, her passion extends to providing alternative and sustainable livelihoods through agribusiness projects.

She is currently Running operations at Shiftbalance, and actively engages in identifying potential RFP and consultancy offers, excels in grant writing, offers adept support in website management, and contributes her expertise in copywriting. Monicah is on a mission to foster positive change, create lasting impact, and explore collaborative opportunities that contribute to a more peaceful and prosperous future. Additionally, she holds a degree in Business Management and is pursuing a Masters in project planning and management further enriching her ability to contribute meaningfully to impactful projects.
